caring more
Almost all of MITIE’s operations involve working with buildings, and as buildings produce almost half of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions, we've got an important role to play in helping the country to meet its tough climate change targets.
More often than not, we’re the one’s responsible for heating, ventilation, lighting and air conditioning in buildings. That puts us in an ideal position to help our clients reduce their energy consumption, carbon emissions – and their bills. Even better, we have over 20 years of experience in converting the theory of sustainability into a commercial and practical reality.
We practice what we preach too and have embarked on several new initiatives as a major part of our commitment to improving how we manage our environmental impacts. These include measuring and monitoring our energy consumption, implementing a group-wide carbon management programme and reducing and recycling more of our consumer waste, to name just a few.
CR is constantly evolving and the bar is always rising, but we know that we need to define, and then exceed targets. We want to increase transparency, benchmark ourselves and focus on measurable KPIs, and no where more so than where the environment is concerned.
For more details on our recent activities and initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint, and information on our environmental priorities, take a look at our CR report or have a look at the other links on this page.
